Jesus said to them,"I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who has given you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and give life to the world." John 6:32 (NIV)
"Give us this day our daily bread." Mathew 6:11 (KJV)
The church is a wonderful place to learn and grow. But to often I think people get so comfortable in it and with it, they often forget salvation does not come from the church. It's a gift from God through Christ Jesus. Don't forsake your selves from meeting in God's house, or alone together. Iron sharpens iron, and believers sharpen, shape and help each other grow.
Real growth in Christ will come from a personal relationship with Christ. What does that mean? After accepting the free gift of salvation you are then on the path to eternal life with Christ Jesus. The only way you will truly know what God wants from, and for you is through reading, studying and applying the Bible to your life. If you have a hard time understanding a certain version of the Bible, it is okay to find a version you can understand and read it daily. It's food for your soul.
You were created to glorify God. I can't think of a better way to grow in grace than to daily fill your mind, thoughts and actions with His word. Ask God to help you understand and apply His word to your life.
Every person in your life will fail you in some way if you know them for very long. Most of us never want to hurt others, but the sin nature we are born with makes it inevitable, we will. As believers we make up "the real church." Just as there are no perfect people there is no perfect church here on earth. That's why it is so important that you put your trust and faith in God and not in any person or place.
Jesus never fails, and He promises to be with you forever.
May God give you a heart that earnestly seeks Him daily. I hope you'll find a hunger for God's will that will keep you filling your soul from bible study and prayer daily. Have you ever considered that maybe the bread he was talking about in the Lord's prayer was actually His word instead of physical bread? Isn't your soul worth more than your very life? Remember your soul is permanent, but your physical body is temporary.
